Killer Heels Kicks Off

Killer Heels Kicks Off

It seems that everyone is indulging in a bit of shoe fest these days. First the announcement of the much anticipated opening of Selfridges shoe galleries (I literally can.not.wait), Vivienne Westwood's shoes exhibition is currently underway and now even London's dance house at Sadler's Well's is exploring shoe phenomena with it's latest production of 'shoes' with toe-tapping, catchy, footwear-inspired song and dance numbers.

Save the Children has taken this modern age passion to create awareness of killer diseases, with the launch of its Christmas campaign - ‘Killer heels to stamp out killer disease’

From today, Save the Children are calling for donations of ‘Killer heels to help stamp out killer diseases’. Making an appeal to the fashion industry and the British public to donate their killer heels and help stamp out killer diseases such as pneumonia, malaria and measles taking millions of children’s lives around the world. Designer heels will be displayed at ‘Mary’s Living & Giving shops for Save the Children’ in December and auctioned online.

While designers are donating some of their money-can’t-buy shoes to the campaign, Save the Children is also appealing to the general public to join in by donating their most sparkly and glitzy shoes of the season to their local Save the Children shops.

Watch this space for news and updates on the latest on Killer Heels and make sure to go through your wardrobes and rifle through your shoe racks. Those glitzy shoes that are never to be worn again could make a big difference. Now you can donate them and know that they’ve helped save children’s lives around the world.
